Speaking

Speaking

I prepare my talks in close consultation with my clients ensuring content and style are well-matched to the target audience.  I generally avoid research and statistics and rely more on personal stories and lived experience. Feedback over the years tells me this is what works best. I can confidently address a profession body, government service or community organisation. I’m always happy to join a panel and contribute to a broad discussion on a issue, or to deliver a specific, tailored presentation. I speak with clarity, humour and to time. Some examples of my speaking engagements are:

  • All families are equal, but some families are more equal than others: Queer Thinking: EqualiTea Party: Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras
  • The future of LGBTIQ parenting: University of Melbourne Graduate Students Association, Midsumma
  • Best practice for working with rainbow families: Municipal Association of Victoria, Biennial Conference
  • Working with rainbow families: Dinner speaker for GPs: City Fertility Centre
  • The Modern LGBTI Family: She Speaks, Northside
  • Supporting bereaved parents: Stillborn and Neonatal Death Society (SANDS)
  • Supporting LGBTI parents: Perinatal Mental Health Practitioners
  • Briefing on Rainbow Families Resource Kit: Nicholes Family Lawyers
  • Time to Tell: Victorian Assisted Reproductive Treatment Authority
  • The case for Marriage Equality: Panel, Malthouse Theatre
  • Straight Talk about Gay Marriage: Bishop Gene Robinson, local panel, Federation Square
  • Same-sex families and social inclusion: Moreland City Libraries

Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have something in mind.
