If you think change isn’t possible, come to this training. Jac created change in a conservative Catholic organisation – you can too.
Powerful and engaging training which inspires you to think deeply about ideas for change and to take action.
Who is this workshop for?
This workshop is for any organisation, service or business that wants to improve its engagement with the LGBTQ community, but needs help to get started. It’s specifically designed for those organisations that believe working in this space might be challenging and met with resistance by some of its staff, clients or other stakeholders.
What’s covered in the workshop?
The workshop will help participants to understand exactly where their organisation sits in relation to LGBTQ people and to identify areas of resistance and support. It will provide you with a change tool kit that will enable you to engage with people in a safe and respectful way to shift attitudes to a more supportive position. Specifically, you will:
- benchmark your organisation’s engagement with LGBTQ people
- identify the key stakeholders associated with your organisation
- map those stakeholders in relation to their level of support or resistance
- understand the psychology of how people change their mind and behaviours
- learn a range of strategies to help you start shifting mindsets
- develop a Change Implementation Plan to help kick-start the change process
What will I leave with?
By the end of the workshop, you will have a clear understanding of the challenges and opportunities presented by your organisation and will have the capacity and confidence to start shifting the organisational mindset. You’ll develop your own practical Change Implementation Plan that you can kick-startas soon as you return to work, and that will provide the foundations for you to create your own Rainbow Positive organisation at a later date.

A NOTE ON PSYCHOLOGICAL SAFETY
As a member of the LGBTQ community and a longstanding advocate, I understand that participants to my workshops – both queer and non-queer – come with their own personal and lived experience. While I cannot guarantee one hundred per cent psychologically safety, I am extremely mindful of the diversity of that lived experience and the challenges it brings. In all my workshops, I pay very careful attention to creating as psychologically safe an environment as possible for all participants. If you have any particular concerns, please don’t hesitate to raise them when we are discussing your workshop.
